The software
Goel° (the macOS app, GoelDaemon, Goel° Web and the browser extensions) is source-available software distributed under the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 license. That license governs your use of the software; these terms don't restrict any rights it grants you.
It permits any noncommercial purpose. Personal, hobby and student use is free. Use by a charity, school, university, public research body, public safety or health organisation, environmental protection organisation or government institution is also free — the license's Noncommercial Organizations clause permits it outright, regardless of how you are funded. Use in the course of a business, by a contractor in billable work, or on a company's managed/MDM fleet requires a commercial license — see commercial licensing. Deploying by MDM does not itself trigger that: a school or charity managing its own machines with Jamf, Intune or Munki stays on the free side.
As that license states, the software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind — express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk, and the authors are not liable for any claim or damages arising from its use.
Bundled third-party components (libtorrent, libssh2, libcurl, OpenSSL, yt-dlp, Sparkle and others) remain under their own licenses — see the third-party notices.
